Summer Missionary Job Description
All Tribes Recognizes this position as a missionary opportunity and it is therefore a volunteer position, however, an honorarium will be provided at the end of the 9 week term. The summer missionaries will work 20-35 hrs/week when camp is not in session. When camp is in session summer missionaries will fill in as cabin counsellors or porgram staff and hours will vary. The position will begin on July 2nd and end on August 31st.
The person who is best suited for this role will be:
In agreement with our statement of faith
Active in their local church
Passionate about serving in camp ministry
Able and willing to learn on the job
Adaptable
Able to work unsupervised and as a team player
Active and able to preform physical labour
Licensed to drive in Ontario with a minimum of a G1 license, a G2 would be an asset
Maintain a Christ honouring lifestyle both in and out of camp
Roles and Responsibilities
The summer missionaries will serve in a variety of roles at All Tribes over the summer. This includes but is not limited to:
General Responsibilities
Set a mature example for both campers and volunteers
Provide discipleship and leadership to campers
Actively maintain a positive and encouraging work environment
Maintenance
Help maintain the facility
Cut grass and other grounds keeping
Sanitation and cleaning
Work on building projects and all other projects that the facility managers see fit
Work under the direct supervision of the facility managers
Program Assistance
Assist the director in the planning and execution of weekly themes
Fill in as a cabin or group leader where needed
Set up and clean up of camp activities throughout the camp weeks
Work under the direct supervision of the Executive Director
